Belk was born in 1988 and raised in Omaha Nebraska. His pictures result from his passion for drawing
mixed with experimentation of color, paint, and mixed media. His pencil technique is what blends his
unique use of abstract with realism, depicting how he expresses immense emotion subtly for 21st century
realities. The experimentation with beauty and commonality mixed with the coarse realities of nature allow
for each viewer to discover their own narrative to the picture's story. His use of color, balanced with the
detail of graphite, shadow, and light, build a narrative for each viewer to interpret.
